Some of you may have heard about my flickr group Posers ( http://www.flickr.com/groups/slposers/ ) and that we have a contest every week. We choose 2 poses from 2 different pose makers and people can choose between the two. The chosen pose must be in the picture. The prize is 500L plus a prize given by the designer of the pose.
So far the contest has been very successful and every week we have more and more entries! However, we have a problem. We’re running out of stores to get poses from! We know that eventually we will have to choose from a store we’ve chosen from in the past, but the purpose of this contest and group was to generate business and exposure and to feature the best posemakers out there, so we don’t want to do that just yet.
This is where you come in. If you are a posemaker (can be solo or couple or group poses) and you have a store where people can buy your products and you would be interested in being a part of this rapidly growing group (We have 600 members so far!), please IM me in world. There are just a few “guidelines” we have, and they are:
1. I work with my partner Aya Liotta and we work hard every week to make this contest a success for both the group and the pose makers. However, we’re paying the prize money out of our own balance, and we can’t afford to be buying poses every week for contests, so we’re asking the designers that we choose if they would be willing to send us the pose directly. It’s a small price to pay for the exposure you will receive.
2. You must have a varied selection of poses. I understand that there are a lot of up-and-coming, or new posemakers out there that don’t really have their business set up yet, and we love to hear that, however it doesn’t work for us. If you only have a few poses, or pose packs, what will you be able to offer as a prize?
3. You must choose a suitable prize for the winner. In the past, we’ve had designers offering linden prizes, gift cards, pose packs, furniture sets, etc. The bigger the prize the more people will want to choose your category when they enter the contest, but it’s up to you to decide what you want to offer. We don’t want you to break the bank, but we just like to give people a nice incentive. 🙂 If you need examples of what kind of prize to offer, you can look in the past contest threads in the group.
We also have an in-world group that we use to announce contest details, and designers use it as well to announce their sales and to give out free gifts. 🙂 You can find us in the Group Search under “SLPosers”.
Understand that we may not pick your store right away, as we can only pick 2 per week, but that we will get to it soon. We would like to form a list of interested designers so that it makes our job easier, and also gets more exposure for a store that may not necessarily be as popular as all those other big ones.
If you’re interested, or have any questions, or just wanna say hey, or drop me something to review for the blog, please don’t be afraid to IM me in-world.
Thanks guys! I now return you to your regularly scheduled blog reading.
PS- If you’re a store we’ve already featured and would like to be involved a second time, let me know! We don’t want to bug designers if they aren’t interested, so an indication of interest would be great! 🙂
